La guitare du jour est une Minicaster. La Minicaster est une guitare électrique de voyage conçue et assemblée par Guitare Garage. Celle-ci est assemblée autour d’un corps en frêne des marais en finition Green huilée. Côté micros on est sur du Tonerider avec un Rebel 90 en position manche pour un son façon P90. La Minicaster est haute de 75 cm et ne pèse que 2 kilos, ça passe tout seul sous le sapin !

Fender Super Strat conversion
I couldn’t find a Charvel that I liked, so why not just build out what I want…
It started back in late July with my friend Tommy selling me this mid 2000’s MIM Strat for an insane price. The neck and frets are A+++.
So we did an HSS upgrade /conversion. I ordered a wiring harness for the HSS, 2 New 60s style Alnico 5 single coil and 1 ToneRider humbucker PAF Alnico 5 and new nut. I wanted this to be more of a 60s inspired neck and middle sound with a humbucker to split but still have the 5 position to be more PAF 70s classic rock.
I find myself playing this guitar all the time. It’s super versatile, and looks cool. Moral of the story? Sometimes the perfect guitar just needs you to mod it to be perfect…

At the beginning of the year, I decided to start a little personal challenge to take a cheap sterlingbymusicman guitar and make it awesome. I needed a backup for my Mariposa and I felt like the only thing that could fit the bill was another Sterling, there are some very specific things about these guitars I like.
So I found a Sterling Albert Lee at a really good price with a case on Kijiji, and bit the bullet. I remember it being a lot like one of those really shady transactions in a mall parking lot.
Off the bat, this guitar played horrible, the neck looked like it either took a nasty fall or was the house pet's chew toy, it would not stay in tune, and the pickups were very brittle sounding.
This guitar ended up getting locking tuners, a couple bridge components, new electronics (Sterling guitars biggest flaw in my opinion are the stock Potentiometers), and new tonerider pickups.
Today I feel like my objective has been accomplished. Between getting a better guitar and modifying this one I personally am happy to have modified this one as it gave me a chance to dial in what I really want to sound like. That being said, if someone would like to do something similar, my best advice would be to do research, plan out what you want to do and only execute it if you really know what you want to do. There are a lot of options, it's easy to get lost in all the pickups and modifications.

•Treble bleed para evitar que el sonido se vuelva opaco a bajo volumen.
•Cables con recubrimiento de tela (tanto los potes como el treble bleed y los cables proceden de un set para stratocaster de la marca Tone Shaper).
•Condensador de tono PIO K40Y9 de papel de aceite de 0,047uf.
•Selector Fender clásico de muelle, de 5 posiciones.
•Tono habilitado para la pastilla del puente (modificación típica desde los años 70 y en mi opinión necesaria, ya que dicha pastilla carecía de esta ventaja, pues debido a su posición se obtienen agudos demasiado estridentes).
•Apantallado de todas las cavidades para reducir el habitual ruido que generan los micrófonos de bobinado simple.

Partcaster stratocaster candy apple red 70's (2🛠️). Aquí tenéis el antes y después, la electrónica y pastillas que le puse en un principio y con lo que finalmente quedó. El de la izquierda era más enfocado a dejarla como una Superstrat, H-S-S, selector de 5 posiciones, potenciómetros más juntos (para dejar el golpeador más despejado y no entorpecer a la mano) de los cuales dos de ellos eran push pull, el inferior para hacer "coil split" y el superior combinar pastillas mastil con puente. Lo retiré porque no me convencía del todo, no me agradó la combinación de estas pastillas en concreto e influyó bastante que siempre tuve debilidad por el aspecto de las stratos clásicas. Por lo tanto le acabé instalando la electrónica y pastillas que veis en la derecha (el después): golpeador nuevo de tres capas en blanco marfil para S-S-S, un set de single coils alnico V (Classic Blues) de Tonerider, selector de 5 posiciones fender, potes CTS de 250k logarítmicos y algunos extras que os mostraré en siguientes publicaciones. Lo cierto es que quedó ¡BRUTAL! Jeje así que estad pendientes, solo os digo que su nuevo dueño sé que está encantado con ella 👌🏼.
