Our first Alnico 2 Tele set offers blues and jazz players warm, rich trebles and superb sustain, whilst still maintaining enough tele-twang on the bridge pickup to keep up with country licks. This is our lowest output telecaster set, and lets your guitar ring! In particular, this set works great with a snappier maple fingerboard telecaster, controlling harsh trebles and overly boomy bass notes.
All bridge pickups come with our modified vintage stagger, and are available in right and left-handed models.
Installing this set with a four way switch? We are happy to install a separate ground wire for the neck – just check the box above the “Add to Cart” button above. This will give you three wires – a coil start (yellow), a coil finish (black) and a ground wire (black wire from cover tab).

Mr. M –
This is the 5th lot of Toneriders I’ve bought. I’ve been very happy with all of them.
I’ve had 3 sets of tele pups, a set of Strat pups and some humbuckers. They have
all been superb. Why would I want to pay more for other name brands, when I can
get Toneriders.
Telephonic –
Great toneriders, 2nd set installed in my Fenders. Lower output with more tone, less breakup through valve amp until one turns up the gain. More sustain on clean settings and can be set high,- closer to the strings without that magnetic pull warbling sound occurring.

I’ve used Seymour Duncan pickups before this but honestly, I don’t think I’ll pay that much again. The tone on these is just so good it’s unbelievable.
Phil Nozama –
I purchased an inexpensive telecaster copy from a secondhand shop and thought of how I could improve the tone of it. These Tonerider alnico blues pickups have transformed the sound of the telecaster and made the guitar a joy to play. A brilliant investment and a lot cheaper than an upmarket instrument. If you love the playing characteristics of your cheaper guitar but don’t like the compromised tone, fit these and those bluesy licks will inspire you to reach new heights.

I have this pickup and the Alnico II Classic Humbucker in my Telecaster. Wow! These pickups sound as good as any I’ve ever used in my life, and Ive been playing for 55 years. I could not be happier with them. Top quality sound and construction, with a VERY moderate price tag. Tonerider is the only pickup I will ever buy again. Superb.

Put a set of the Alnico II Classic Humbuckers
in a high end Telecaster build. Sound awesome.

I found the hot classics set good but a bit too hot and mid focused for my taste. With this set I struck gold. The neck pickup doesn’t pretend to sound like a strat and is nice and bright and tele like which I really like. The high end on the bridge pickup is really musical and sweet unlike an alnico 5 set I tried earlier which was too harsh. The output level in this set is also perfect- hot enough but quite open sounding as well. Finally I’ve found the perfect set for my ash tele.

Replaced the standard pickups in my MIM Player Tele (maple finger board) with this Alnico 2 Blues set. Lower output compared to most modern aftermarket pickups for the Tele. These just sound vintage. Neck or bridge. These are my favorite Tele pickups. They work great with pedals so you can push the front of the amp a bit harder with some boost from a pedal as the output is noticeably lower than most modern pickups. If its the vintage vibe you are after these have got in spades. I’m not talking the original Fender 50s vintage tone. These have a vintage vibe all of their own. Warmer with a very big but super tight bass response. They still work well with heavy overdrive and fuzz but have such a lovely clean tone also. If you like the tones of yesteryear these will not disappoint.

They work very well without pedals as well and drive my Marshall JTM45 to that sweet spot were it just starts to overdrive with no problem at all. Warmer with a very big but super tight bass response. The mids and highs on the bridge are not at all harsh but sweet and still twangy. They still work well with heavy overdrive and fuzz but have such a lovely clean tone also. I have the hot classics in my other Tele and like them alot but The Alnico2 Blues set has that something special going on that very few other Tele pickups can match.
