pick up alnico 2 blues

i'm not a "pro" player, only an amateur, this set of pick ups really surprised me, but the main added value are the guys of toneriders team, always available and very kind to support me in the choiche.

Absolutely clear and bell-like!

They make a Stellar-Caster out of your Strat. That is the Strat-Sound I was looking for. If you like it more in SRV-Style, think about the "City Limits".

Alnico II Blues Strat pickups

I bought a set of the Alnico 2 Blues pickups to replace the Fender pickups in my Classic Player 50s Strat. I’ve owned this guitar for almost 15 years and love the instrument., but although the Fender pickups have a very clean and detailed sound, they always sounded thin and bright to me. I tried adjusting the height, and different strings but couldn’t get the sound I had in my head. After fitting the Alnico 2 set and playing them for a few hours I can say these are exactly what I needed. They have a wonderful full bodied sound and seem to respond to different picking styles really well. They also drive my pedals much better than the old pickups. I can wholeheartedly recommend these. Thanks Tonerider.

AWESOME!

So I bought a squire sonic series strat to give my grandson as a gift. The ceramic pickups that were in it were not terrible. They are clear and bright and relatively balanced across the frequency spectrum. However, they have more output than I prefer, and a sort of glassy attack that I don't really care for. Decided to try these based on the description. I would agree with the description and most if not all of the positive reviews here. These A2's are clear, bright, warm, and balanced. The output for me is pretty close to perfect. They do the clean to edge of breakup thing very well. I like that the bass and treble response of these is not overwhelming. The tone is just balanced, which allows the mids to shine through nicely. The DC resistance of these A2's is virtually identicle to the DCR of the ceramic pickups. But as the output of A2 rod magnets and ceramic flat magnets are quite different, I calculated that the A2's would be about where I wanted them. That was correct. Before ordering these I did some comparisons of Fender and Squire Strat tones at GC. These are guitars generally between $400-900. This inexpensive guitar now sounds as good or better than those. I would add that this guitar has a hard tail bridge and I replaced the saddles with brass saddles, which noticeably improves tone and increases acoustic output. I gave the guitar a proper setup. Filed a couple of fret ends. And I'm playing through a Fender Champion II 25(awesome amp). Now the guitar sounds so good I can't hardly put it down! Had I not made this upgrade, every time I played it I would be telling myself, this guitar should sound better! Out of the box these pickups look and feel like quality. The upgrade was simple and worth every penny. I will never buy overpriced pickups. And I'm Looking forward to trying other ones in the TR lineup in the future. Thanks TR!
