The Alnico 2 Classic is a superb humbucker set for guitars that need more warmth, fullness and sustain.

At higher gain settings, the Alnico II Classic really nails the fluid distortion sound of players like Slash, who use the smooth attack and longer sustain of the neck to great effect during solos, and the tighter, fizzier tones available from the bridge for rock rhythm work.

All AC2 pickups are fully wax potted to avoid microphonic feedback, and come supplied with #3/48 screws, springs and an installation guide.

Available individually or as a set.  Four conductor wiring as standard on all models.

Warm and punchy

The zebra Alnico 2 pickup gives you a crisp warm PAF style tone, enhancing the rich mind overtones, but still maintains the crisp punch. Great for rhythm and lead playing. If you're looking for more of a smooth fusion type sound (over a modern rock or metal sound),then this fits the bill. Love this humbucker!!

Transforned: Ibanez AS50

My newly acquired Ibanez AS50 (built in 1980) had the original V2 pickups in it. These pickups haveva DCR of 15K and a max output if about 2V peak-to-peak. The SD Seth Lovers I have in another guitar, by comparison, kick out about half of that. I struggled to get a decent clean tone out if the guitar unless I plugged directly into my amp, bypassing all my pedals. So, knowing that I liked the sound of Seth Lovers, I bought a pair of Alnico 2 Classics. What a transformation! I could not be happier. The Alnico 2 Classics cost less than half the price the Seth Lovers cost me 20 years ago and sound very similar. Only downside was that the lead of the bridge pickup was about 5cm too short for proper routing in the semi-hollow body so it's just visible through the f-hole. They sound great both clean and crunchy.
