The Alnico 2 Classic is a superb humbucker set for guitars that need more warmth, fullness and sustain.

At higher gain settings, the Alnico II Classic really nails the fluid distortion sound of players like Slash, who use the smooth attack and longer sustain of the neck to great effect during solos, and the tighter, fizzier tones available from the bridge for rock rhythm work.

All AC2 pickups are fully wax potted to avoid microphonic feedback, and come with supplied with #3/48 screws, springs and an installation guide.

Available individually or as a set.  Four conductor wiring as standard on all models.

Alnico 2 Classics Nice!!

I bought and put in a set of Alnico 2 Classics in a LesPaul kit I built. I’ve put a gold set of Grover’s on it an aluminum nickel plated tailpiece , brass nickel plated bridge ,six string supplies uk. SSS Premium Les Paul 50s style CTS pots and capacitors kit, and Switchcraft toggle switch and jack.so I’ve tried to really put top grade components into my build. These Alnico 2 Classics sound great! You can hear every note crystal clear. I got the aged set and I like that they aren’t over done with the reliving. If you’re looking for a set of P.AF. sounding pickups and your not looking to take out a loan for them these are a really good choice.

To quote Darth Vader "Impressive"

So, I bought a Squier Troublemaker Tele a bit ago and it was fine. Except the pickups were a little bit meh. Not bad but not enough to keep me picking up the guitar. Anyway, I didn't wanna spend a fortune and I'd never done a pick-up upgrade before so I was looking on t'interweb and the tube for suggestions. Tonerider kept popping up and getting stellar reviews so, I emailed them, told them what I was looking for and waited. They got straight back to me and suggested their Alnico 2 humbuckers. So for 96 quid I thought why the hell not. They came within a couple of days, very well packaged and with great installation instructions. Well what can I say? These are superb! They've brought my Squier tele to life! I've played it so much more since I've installed them. So, if you want articulate, great sounding pickups for not a lot of moolah, you'd be hard pressed to find another set this good at this price. Customer support is outstanding too. Just buy them.

Alnico 2 classics installed in Tokai Les Paul project guitar

I wired these humbuckers, each in series mode as supplied, into a 50's style wiring harness. It was easy to find a good balance between the neck and bridge pickups just using the factory recommended heights. They are warm and full with surprising clarity and sustain through the clean channel of my small valve amp, however upping the gain gives them some grit. Both neck and bridge have great qualities to them, but they complement each other perfectly when used together. The clean sound would, I imagine, be very versatile across a range of styles. When overdriven through the distorted channel they remain warm, but crunchy with heaps of sustain and very little darkness. IMO they are perhaps most suited to classic blues and rock in this mode, although some of this may be the 50s wiring and they may be darker with different wiring setups. The quality of these pickups far exceeded my expectations for the money and I'm super happy with the results.
