The Alnico 4 Classic is a matched humbucker set that is pick sensitive, rich in harmonics and with a tight bass.

When you crank the gain, these pickups saturate quickly and start to “sing” harmonically, with a vocal, flutey quality – the mark of a great PAF!

All AC4 pickups are fully wax potted to avoid microphonic feedback, and come with supplied with #3/48 screws, springs and an installation guide.

Available individually or as a set.  Four conductor wiring as standard on all models.

A real Classic to remember!

I purchased this set to upgrade the stock pickups on my Epi Les Paul Classic, and the difference is night and day! They're not just better—they've got personality. You get crisp, clean sounds, a raw crunch, and richly distorted tones. The guitar came with a coil split and phase switch, and these pickups handle the split beautifully, giving off a very Strat-esque sound, despite the expected minor drop in volume. For potential buyers, a tip: play around with your tone and volume knobs. These pickups have a lot to offer with just a few tweaks.

My new cup of tea.

I was looking for pickups to open up the tone of my Gibson Les Paul Studio Alpine White. The AC4 fitted perfectly for this purpose. It’s very articulate, has a lot of character and low noise. I’ve got better cleans and still can get chugga metal tones easily, with better harmonics and richier overall tone. Tonerider is my new cup of tea. great job!

Awesome pickups! Every bit as good if not better than Seymour Duncans (which I have in quite a few of my guitars because I wasn’t familiar with Tonerider yet) and for about half the price. I have ordered 5 different pickup sets from them and can’t wait to get them all installed. I highly recommend them!

A4's in my PRS

I recently purchased a set of Tonerider A4's for my PRS SE Custom 24. I've been trying hard to love the guitar for several years but I always felt the sound was a bit "meh." I don't usually go for hot pickups, opting instead for more vintage tones and I wanted something a little different. I've used Toneriders in a Tele build I did for my son and I recently put a set of Surfaris in my ancient Partscaster, built in the 90's. I thought both were excellent, comparing very favorably to the Duncans and Fenders I had.

I stuck to regular spacing instead of F-spaced and it works just fine, even though PRS is just a little bit different on their measurements. It comes with a coil split and a treble bleed so I left that intact, using Tonerider's suggestion of the inside coils for single coil mode. As it turned out, that meant the wire colors went to the exact same connections as the PRS. Nice! The PRS pups in SC mode were very bright and thin. In contrast, the A4 gives a meatier tone, very usable.

I couldn't be more pleased with the choice I made. I mainly play through a Helix and these pickups sound great clean, overdriven and they soar with the best of them for leads, all through a wide variety of amps. They clean up very nicely with the volume knob on the guitar. aided by the treble bleed. I'm sitting here playing through a Badcat tone-matched preset on the lead channel and rolling the volume back gives me a beautiful clean tone. Not just "good for the money," Toneriders are excellent pickups. Highly recommended!
