Tonerider Apex Blackguard Set. Hum-Cancelling Pickups for all Telecasters
The Apex Blackguard Set delivers all the snap, twang and bite that Telecaster players love, without the noise. Designed for guitarists who want early 50s Telecaster tones that can be used in real-world playing environments, the Apex Blackguard deliver vintage-inspired tone with studio-level hum-cancellation.
The Apex Blackguard bridge pickup (APT1-B) brings punchy attack, tight lows, and that unmistakable Tele bite, while staying clear and controlled under gain. The neck pickup (APT1-N) features a nickel-silver cover, and is warm and articulate, with a smooth top end that keeps chords open and single notes expressive, perfect for everything from clean rhythm work to soulful leads. In the middle position, the set delivers an open, chimey tone.
Whether you’re on a loud stage or in the studio, the Apex Blackguard set keeps unwanted hum out of the signal while preserving the feel and response that makes a great Tele-style guitar come alive.
Apex Blackguard pickups are fully compatible with both 3-way and 4-way switches, with no modifications required.
