Very similar to my favorite HB

I installed the Birmingham set in a PRS SE 594. The stock pickups weren't terrible but, a bit lifeless. The Birminghams were a definite improvement. More clarity and more balls. Just what I was looking for. They reminded me of one of my favorite HB pickups, the DMZ 36th. I have a Les Paul with those so, I did a side by side test. They were similar enough to chaulk up the difference to the difference between the two guitars. I'm impressed and the price is attractive, too.

A Certain Something to Them

I’m a lifetime dead-stock Gibson and Fender man, now an old geezer appreciating and modifying Asian guitars. IMHO Tonerider pickups have that certain something that makes me pick up my guitar and play, and play and play. They just sound good like your favorite amp, strings, pedal , venue do. Mojo, secret sauce, magic? I think Tonerider has undeniably great ears and a taste for tone.

Great tones, great price, great look !

I put a Tonerider Birmingham on my Gibson Les Paul, in the bridge position, replacing the original Burstbucker 3. The pickup is incredible, with a pronounced midrange that's perfect for high voltage rock or '80s-style hard rock. One of the split modes offers great dynamics and works really well for blues. I bought the raw nickel one, whose look is perfect for my guitar. This pickup offers excellent value for money — I highly recommend it. What a discovery, and what a deal !
