TRP1- what else?

I first got a used TRP1 which I installed in a Squier Contemporary bass when remodelling it to passive mode.
The sound impressed me that much, that I also use it in some of my Fender bass guitars now!

Tone To Die For?

I should start by saying that I have not yet installed the pickup into the bass.

What I can say is that the pickup is nicely presented and well designed. The clever way that the foam is used to hold the slings in place suggest a very easy mechanical install. What the pickup sounds like will have to wait for another day.

This pickup is a rocker!!

Like the original P-bass pickup, the Classic P can produce many sounds based on the tone control setting and playing style. I am especially enjoying playing classic party rock songs as this guy can put out some growl and responds well to a stronger attack. This was a good choice for my bass build.

Classic budget choice

Really can’t be beat for the price - has clarity and depth, I’ve used in a couple of cheap (£250) and mid (£600) priced basses and they’ve been a clear improvement over the overly hot, muddy stock pickups. Great pickup

Great Pickup and Great VFM

This is the third Classic P I have bought. I have used them in a full scale, medium scale and short scale bass. They work really well in all, while reflecting the characteristics of the scale. The Classic P is easily the equal of much more expensive “name” brands. It gives you everything you expect from a P bass, plus it is really responsive to your playing dynamics.
