Full Description

Our most popular pickup set of all time, this telecaster set features a higher wind on Alnico 3 magnets, scatterwound for maximum tone!

The bridge pickup is wound on a black fibreboard bobbin and wrapped with black string, and a copper-plated ferrous baseplate. All Hot Classics are now made with flat magnet polepieces (no stagger) on the bridge pickup for a early 50s correct look.

The neck pickup features our in-house Nickel-Silver cover for tonal transparency, and we include wood screws for direct mounting to the body, and two #4/40 pan head screws for use when mounting the pickup to a pickguard.

Each pickup is fully wax potted to reduce any microphonic feedback, and comes supplied with screws, latex height adjustment tubing and an installation guide.

Player series swap

These solved the EXCT issue I wanted them too. The Player series bridge in particular has squeeky overtones at around 2-3khz that leap out from the B and high e. I wanted something with a similar output but more character and something that sweetened off that area so leads were so squarky. These definitely deliver. Great output, touch sensitivity and a very sweet and full tone. They're rounded as a vintage Tele should be. Well worth the investment.

Hot classics , more like hot legends

I converted my baritone guitar from himbuckers to single using the hot classics. Sounds like I expected and still have some grit on the bridge pu to make my amp scream when needed

Hot classics fit the bill

Great Tele bridge pick-up has the hot broadcaster sound balanced and very versatile. Takes gain really well and cuts through the mix. Fantastic bridge pick-up well priced too-well done Tonerider! 🌟

Hot Classics - Upgrading a "beginner" guitar

I installed the Hot Classic (AlNiCo 3) pickups in a CNZ Audio short-scale tele-style guitar (TL MINI) in order to upgrade the sound of the basic ceramic pickups. I prefer the AlniCo 3 sound due to the bass response level. I found the installation was easier given the cloth coverings that can be slid back and so removal and return-to-original spec would be very easy.
But overall, I enjoy these tones - this is my fourth set of Tonerider pickups for strat-style guitars and Teles and I will probably look at adding some humbucking pickups to my other guitars (I have forty or so in my collection at this point)
