This Pre-Wired Strat® Pickguard from Tonerider combines the Pure Vintage pickup set with a premium wiring harness and a modern pattern 11-hole pickguard. Whether you are building a guitar or modding an existing instrument, this assembly delivers great Strat® tone without the need for time consuming and complex wiring work - only the wires to ground and the output jack need to be soldered.
The Pure Vintage pickup set is scatterwound using heavy build AWG42 wire to capture the warmth, clarity and chime of the finest late-'50s Strats®.
The wiring harness is hand-soldered using the highest quality components: CTS 250k audio pots, a USA-made Oak Grigsby 5-way switch, and an original Orange Drop capacitor. A full aluminium shield covers the entire pickguard.
In addition to the use of quality components, this pickguard uses a wiring scheme that improves on the limitations of 50s Strat® wiring. The volume control features a treble bleed circuit to preserve high-end clarity throughout its rotation. The first tone control is wired to the neck and mid pickups, and the second tone control is wired to the bridge pickup. Both tone controls share a 0.022µF capacitor, providing a smooth and usable range of treble control.
