The Birmingham HSS Set

Finally a HSS-set which is fairly well balanced! The Birmingham-humbucker is just right output-wise to go with the single coils and can do just about everything. The single coils have a big, almost mellow sound and also bite when you dig in. Overall I'd say this set will cover a lot of ground especially for cover-bands etc. when you don't necessarily want to bring several guitars along for a gig.

I had everything wired according to Tonerider's diagram with 250K pots and it works wonderfully, no brittle single coils and the humbucker is clearly designed for them too. I chose the flat polepieces for my 9,5" radius fretboard and it works extremely well.

Overall can highly recommend this set and Tonerider in general, they have never let me down!

As many other reviews have stated: this is truly good quality. This isn't cheap gear that just happens to sound good. No, it's truly quality at a great price.

With this set, your guitar becomes an amazing all-around guitar. This is the best humbucker I've ever played. It cuts through the mix and gives a wow feeling when you hit it. The humbucker and single coils are well-balanced. Don't worry about the 250k pots; this humbucker is clearly designed for it.

The single-coil pickups are everything you'd expect from good single-coil pickups. Glassy clean sounds and do exactly what you want with overdrive, fuzz, or distortion.

I live in the Netherlands, and the pickups were delivered just three days after purchase! Nicely packaged, and with the online wiring diagrams, I was able to replace everything myself without any problems.

This is my favourite HSS set, so far I've fitted 3 sets to clients guitars, one customer preferred them over his Fender original pickups. Great set of pickups, highly recommended.
