Full Description

The Pure Vintage set from Tonerider is the perfect upgrade for any player looking for that warm, vintage Stratocaster sound.

Never harsh, full of chime and equally at home with clean or dirty amps, this is the set that defined the Tonerider approach to pickup making more than 20 years ago. Wound with heavy AWG42 wire and scatterwound to mimic the "Holy Grail" of single coil guitar tones - the late 50s strat.

The Pure Vintage set uses rod magnets with our "Modified Vintage Stagger" allowing for great string to string balance on a wide range of instruments.

Each pickup is fully wax potted to reduce any microphonic feedback, and comes supplied with screws, latex height adjustment tubing and an installation guide.

Great pickups

Classic Strat tones all the way

I have a maple neck, alder bodied Fender Strat that always sounded brittle, despite several changes in pickups that included big name brands. I have other guitars that have Toneriders, both humbucker and single coil and have never been disappointed.
Like many others, I deliberated over which set to fit to this troublesome Strat. Today I fitted the Pure Vintage. Without any real pickup height adjustment, I could immediately tell that I had found what the guitar had been asking for. I will be tweaking pickup heights for days and weeks to come as I use the Strat in rehearsal and gigs. But ultimately, this is the set I should have fitted in the first place. Thanks once again Tonerider. You came through for me, again!

Already owning a set of Surfari mounted in a partcaster inspired by the 1955 Stratocaster model, after readingglowing reviews I knew that this set xould be perfect for a guitar I wanted to be a replica of a 1956 Stratocaster...
You can go for it with your eyes closed...and your hears open...

Pure joy

Great pickups so much better than the original ones in my player strat and great value for the money, hard to tell any difference between these tonerider pure vintage and Fenders fat 50s except about £100. Would definitely recommend tonerider pickups
